Below are the Freeplay drills recommended for Diamond and Champion.

Tips for Faster Progression

1. Don't wait for the ball to get in a position where you are comfortable with. Jump sooner or from different angles while still trying to hit the ball hard.

2. If you are doing this properly, you should miss a lot of shots and get more consistent over time.

1. No Air Roll - Pillars

Map: Pillars

How: Complete figure 8s around this map without hitting the ground or using air roll


Why: This will help with advanced aerial control

Guidelines:
- Only use air roll for minor adjustments
- If you hit the ground, reset

2. Continuous Air Roll

Map: Pillars

How: Complete figure 8s around this map while holding air roll the entire time


Why: This will help with advanced aerial control

Guidelines:
- Hold Air Roll for 100% of the drill
- If you fall, reset your drill

3. Air Dribble Setups

Map: Any

How: Keep setting yourself up with an air dribble, stay close to the ball and maintain control. Land and go directly to the closest wall to attempt it again


Why: If you only use training packs for air dribbles, you will struggle to set up your shots in-game

Guidelines:
- Once you have a good setup, drop to the ground and attempt another one
- Do not air dribble the ball, just position yourself as if you would

4. Air Dribble for Time

Map: Any

How: You want to go up the wall as vertical as possible, get under the ball, and see how long you can keep the ball up


Why: Keeping the ball in the air longer will improve your air dribble distance and control

Guidelines:
- Air dribble as long as you can

5. Aerial Control
Corners

Map: Any

How: Pick a side post to jump off, hold air roll, and land on the opposite side post. When you land, repeat if from the opposite side


Why: Introduction to advanced aerial control, once you get more consistent then move on to drill 6

Guidelines:
- Pick a goal of successful attempts
- Hold Air roll 100% of the time
- Pick a point to land and if you miss, reset your targeted goal of attempts

6. Aerial Control
Hard Redirect

Map: Any

How: When exiting the net, jump towards midfield boost at a harsh angle. Use air control to land back in the net on the far post


Why: This will help you learn to turn in the air while air rolling

Guidelines:
- Pick a goal of successful attempts
- Hold Air roll 100% of the time
- If you fail, reset your targeted goal of attempts

7. Boost Management

Map: Any

How: Fly around the map collecting all the boost pads. Harder than it looks...


Why: Understanding how to feather your boost and knowing how far you can go with 100%. This also takes a lot of control to complete a lap

Guidelines:
- Disable 100% boost
- Track your progress on how far you go

8. Wave Dash

Map: Any

How: Chain-dash from one side of the field to the other. Hold power-slide; utilize any other wave dash training found in Discord

Why: Wave dashes are very important for recoveries and increasing game speed

Guidelines:
- Wavedash from side to side

9. Squishy Saves

Map: Any

How: Roll the ball towards the net, and position quickly for the squishy save. Faster ball = harder Save. Slower ball = Accuracy training


Why: There are many situations where a squishy save can be more beneficial than a normal save. Only do this in game if you are super confident

Guidelines:
- As you improve, increase the difficulty by giving yourself less time to react
- If you miss the ball, continue until you hit your target number of successful reps

10. Quick Reaction

Map: Tokyo Underpass

How: Roll the ball up the ramp, DON'T JUMP, land on the wall with all 4 wheels, jump off the wall and quickly make contact with the ball. Try and land on the ball and repeat


Why: Improves wall control and ability to react quickly / accurately 

Guidelines:
- Attempt to do this as quickly as possible
- If you miss the ball, continue until you hit your target number of successful reps

11. Complete Wall Control

Map: Any

How: Jump on the wall, turn backward while air rolling to land flat, jump off the wall and air roll to land flat again


Why: This will most likely never be used in-game, however, it improves overall car control and demonstrates advanced car control

Guidelines:
- Attempt to do a whole lap in both directions

12. Kuxir Pinch

Map: Any

How: Roll it up the wall, tilt your car, front flip, and pinch


Why: Learning to pinch the ball effectively can be used to help clear the ball and get crazy shots

Guidelines:
Over and over again, kuxir into a kuxir
- Utilize recoveries to get to the ball quickly

13. Bounce Dribble Repeat

Map: Any

How: Get comfortable doing multiple bounce dribbles on the left/right side of your car


Why: Bounce dribbles are extremely effective in any 1 on 1 situation. They are a must-learn skill

Guidelines:
- Bounce dribble twice on one side, then switch to the opposite side and repeat
- Do to as many as possible on each side

14. Half Flip Cancel
Air Roll

Map: Any

How: You're going to go from net to net doing this: Half Flip, cancel the flip, Air roll, hold reverse, and then Half flip again to drive straight


Why: This is a skill used for advanced recoveries

Guidelines:
- Practice until comfortable

15. Flick Consistency

Map: Any

How: If you have bakkes mod, use it. Just take shot after shot after shot with challenging flicks. Change it up to warm up


Why: Understanding how to flick is very important when you rank up. The more consistent you are, the more lethal you will be in-game

Guidelines:
- Practice any flick you want
- More attempts per min = skip the replay

16. Bounce Dribble Shots

Map: Any

How: Pop the ball up, bounce dribble a few times, and take a shot on net


Why: Bounce dribbles are extremely effective in any 1 on 1 situation. They are a must-learn skill

Guidelines:
- Bounce Dribble at least 3 times and then shoot

17. Freeplay Touches

Map: Any

How: The focus is to hit the ball, toggle between ball cam / car cam, boost, power-slide, and just maintain control

Why: Learning how to control the ball in freeplay will get you more comfortable and increase your accuracy in games

Guidelines:
- Freeplay for 15 mins

18. Speedflip Kickoff

Map: Any

How: Knowing the basics to speed flipping and then implementing them in a kickoff environment, consistency will come with practice

Why: Speed flip kickoffs are the Meta for higher-ranked gameplay

Guidelines:
- Hit the ball and reset your shot
- For more reps per minute, reset shot after contact
